We at StoneCoveTide appreciate that situations may alter, and it's our aim to offer just and clear guidelines regarding refunds. Detailed within this document are the specific scenarios wherein refunds might be granted for our yacht chartering services.
It's important you review these policies meticulously before reserving a yacht charter. Engaging our services through a booking indicates your acknowledgment and consent to these terms related to refunds.
Standard Cancellation and Refund Schedule
More than 72 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: Complete refund minus service charges
Processing Time: 5-7 business days
Service Charge: €50 for credit card transactions
Requirements: Must be requested via email or phone in a written manner
24-72 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: Half of the total cost of the charter
Processing Time: 7-10 business days
Service Charge: €25 subtracted from the refund amount
Criteria: A valid justification is required; administrative fees will be incurred
Less than 24 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: Refunds are not available
Exception: Consideration may be given for emergency scenarios
Alternative: A credit towards future charters may be provided at the discretion of management
Stipulations: Proof is required for claims of emergencies
Weather-Related Cancellations
Our Weather Guarantee
Our highest concern is your safety. Should the weather be deemed hazardous for sailing by our certified captain, we present several options:
- Complete Refund: If rescheduling isn't feasible, a full refund will be provided
- Reschedule: Change your booking to a future available slot with no extra charge
- Charter Credit: Get a credit which is valid for one year from the original charter date
Weather Assessment Process
Our assessment of weather includes:
- Analyzing wind patterns and speeds
- Evaluating sea conditions and wave size
- Forecasts for visibility and precipitation
- Advisories and notices from the Coast Guard
- Safety assessment by a seasoned captain
Decision Timeline: The decision to cancel due to weather is made no later than 4 hours before the charter's scheduled departure time.
Medical Emergency Refunds
Emergency Situations
We recognize medical emergencies may arise. Special considerations may be made for circumstances such as:
- Unexpected illness or injury necessitating hospital care
- A death within the immediate family
- The need to deploy with the military or an emergency recall
- Being summoned for jury duty or a court order
- Natural disasters impacting travel plans
Required Documentation
To consider emergency refunds, we ask for the following documents:
- A medical certificate or confirmation from a hospital
- A death certificate where relevant
- Orders from the military
- Official court summons or jury notice
- Travel alerts or declarations of an emergency
Processing: Upon receiving the correct documents, emergency refunds are tended to within 3-5 business days.
Operational Cancellations
Technical Failures
If the yacht allocated to you suffers from technical issues we are unable to resolve:
- Alternate Vessel: We will make an effort to supply a similar vessel
- Complete Refund: If there is no suitable replacement available
- Partial Refund: If the replacement vessel is priced differently
- Compensation: We may offer added compensation to account for any inconveniences caused
Crew Unavailability
On rare occasions, if we can't provide the promised crew:
- An alternate crew will be sought
- A full refund if we're unable to execute the charter
- The chance to reschedule with no extra fees
Refund Processing
Payment Method
Refunds are made using the original mode of payment:
- Credit Cards: Processed within 5-7 business days
- Bank Transfers: Processed within 7-10 business days
- Cash/Cheque: Processed within 3-5 business days
Processing Fees
Credit Card Transactions
€50 fee for cancellations requested more than 72 hours before the charter
Bank Transfer Reimbursement
A €25 fee applies to all refunds via bank transfer
International Transactions
Additional costs may be incurred for international transfers

Credits for future charters might be provided instead of a refund under certain conditions:
